Teacher Training and new School Building in Myanmar
In cooperation with the Phaung Daw Oo Monastery School, one of the largest schools in the country at the time with 8,000 students, and the Förderverein Myanmar e.V., whose president Konrad Krajewski was until 2018, the comfutura-foundation participated in the project “Introduction of modern teaching methods” and the construction of a school building (New Teacher Training Center) intended for this purpose.  It is used for teaching 16 classes, which are taught in student-oriented teaching methods, different from the frontal teaching that is common in Myanmar.
Adobe School in Myanmar
In Phang Daw Oo School in Mandalay, Myanmar the foundation provided a new adobe style school. It replaced a derelict bamboo building with a leaky roof where the students had to wade through water during the rainy season. In summertime the new adobe school protects from the heat, in wintertime from the cold.
Primary School in Bangladesh
Comfutura-foundation supports the construction and the operation of a primary school in the north of Bangladesh. Since July 2014, 46 girls and 47 boys are taught there in the pre-school and in the first class. Up to now there has not been any school in this region. So far, the children had no access to schooling.

We from comfutura are convinced: Only those who are able to read, to write and to do arithmetic, have a chance to eat one’s fill every day, to resist injustice and to lead a self-determined life. Education initiates equal opportunities and participation in society.

The land for the school building was provided by the old farmer Abdul Latif. He justified his donation:

“Unfortunately up to now there has not been any school in this region. I never have had the chance to attend a school. Now I reach the end of my life and my goal is to leave something to the people of my village. My will is that every child can go to school.”

On this project we work together with NETZ Partnerschaft für Entwicklung und Gerechtigkeit e.V. (www.bangladesch.org). The project is supported by BMZ.

New Primary School in Mingun, Myanmar
The Foerderverein Myanmar built a new primary school in Mingun, a village near Mandalay. The school is linked with the nursery school on the same compound which the Foerderverein has been running for years.

Whoever comes to visit the nursery school, is very pleased to see the children in a relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to a German nursery school teacher the children here are supervised by highly skilled teachers and the educational and pedagogical conception is somewhat Montessory-like.

The parents realised that there is an urgent need that the new kind of teaching should not stop at the end of the nursery school. So, the board of the Foerderverein decided to build and to run a new primary school and convinced comfutura-foundation to contribute financially. (for further details, refer to www.help-myanmar.net).

The school was inaugurated on 01. 01. 2018 in the presence of comfutura founders Christiane and Konrad Krajewski.
